These terms govern your use of SmartSearch, the web application available at app.smartsearch.zaidshaikh.com, and this marketing site. By using SmartSearch, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
What SmartSearch is
SmartSearch is a document search tool that runs entirely in your web browser. You add PDF files to the app, and SmartSearch extracts and indexes their text on your own device to let you search across them, including phonetic and fuzzy matching for names that may be spelled several different ways. No document you add is sent to any server operated by us. Full details of what data is processed and where are set out in our Privacy Policy.
Who can use SmartSearch
You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use SmartSearch. If you are using SmartSearch on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms.
Your responsibilities
You are solely responsible for the documents you add and search using SmartSearch, and for ensuring that your use of any such documents, including electoral rolls, government records, or any list containing personal information about others, complies with all laws that apply to you. You agree not to use SmartSearch to:
- Process documents you do not have a lawful right to possess or search
- Violate the privacy or data protection rights of any person named in a document you search
- Use SmartSearch for any unlawful purpose
Because SmartSearch never receives your documents, we have no ability to monitor, review, or moderate what you add or search. Responsibility for that content and its lawful use rests with you.
No warranty
SmartSearch is provided on an as is and as available basis, without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or accuracy. Phonetic and fuzzy search results are produced by pattern matching and are not guaranteed to be complete or free of error. You should independently verify any result before relying on it for an important decision.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, SmartSearch, including loss of data, loss of documents, or reliance on search results, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Changes to SmartSearch or these terms
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of SmartSearch at any time. We may also update these terms from time to time; if we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of SmartSearch after a change means you accept the updated terms.
